Tech Help Needed

What's the best way to take personal videos and upload them onto the blog?  It takes too long to try and upload a video straight from my computer's files, so I thought I would upload them onto YouTube and then share them from there.  However, I want to keep my home video files private so that they can't been seen by just anyone on YouTube.  But does this mean that I can't share them to my blog?  Each time I've tried, I get a pop-up window that says "Unable to share video."  Any idea what the problem is here?  Any tips to easily upload video files would be appreciated!  Thanks so much!
